The photographer that I chose to study is Brandon Stanton,
the creator of Humans Of New York. His style of photography is taking portraits
of people in the streets of New York. He also talks to them and figures out
different things about them. I decided to go to downtown Lawrence, on Massachusetts
street and do the same thing. I talked to a lot of interesting people and below
are two that I found to be the most interesting.
"I think that instead of war, we should just invade the countries and use sleeping gas. Then take them to a deserted island where their families can come visit them. No prisons or brick walls, they need flowers and trees. I'm thinking about running for president, would you guys vote for me?"
"In 1991 I jumped off a freight train that took me from Denver to here. I liked the look of Lawrence so I stayed. I spent 15 years as an alcoholic, and now I'm an alcohol counselor."
Here is an example of Brandon's work in New York City.
"Everything is up in the air right now. My dog just died. My car just got hit. And I might get evicted. All I've got is my health"
